Designgroup architects h+k is a whangarei based firm specialising in a broad range of architectural disciplines.
The company was established in 1987 under the name 'Harrison and King Architects
and Town Planners Ltd', with directors Peter Harrsion and Geoff King
taking prime roles in the firm.
Working mainly in the residential
sector it wasn't until the mid 90s that architects h+k branched out into
larger
scale projects where they found considerable strength. Today the firm
provides specialist and personal service within many architectural
sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, education,
townplanning, interior design, and project management.
In 2007 Peter Harrison retired from architects h+k in order to pursue
other interests, and Geoff King continued to run the practice solo
until Roger McClean joined the firm as a director in January of 2009.
Prior to joining architects h+k Roger McClean successfully managed his
own practice, he has significant knowledge and experience in
residential architecture with an interest in sustainable design
principles.
In January 2010 Alan Walker became a Director
in architects h+k, Alan held a senior assoicate position within the
firm for 2 years before joining as a partner and his expansive knowlege
across multiple areas of architecture make him an ideal candiate to
join the leaders of the practice. Previous to joining architects h+k
Alan has succesfully run his own practice as well as working in
Auckland and the United Kindom.
Over the last 22 years the company has expanded from its initial 2
directors and now employs 10 staff members who each have specialist
skills to provide our clients.
Designgroup architects h+k have a reputation for providing sound
architectural and resource management services to a wide range of
clients and will continue to do so into the future.
