This project delivered a new, integrat­ed radiology and cancer treatment clinic within the Kaweka Hospital de­velopment in Hastings. The facility brought together TRG Imaging and Canopy Cancer Care under one um­brella, following the merger of the two specialist healthcare providers.

The design and documentation scope included MRI, CT, X-ray, Ultrasound, and Mammography suites, along with oncology treatment spaces, patient preparation areas, staff work zones, and comprehensive clinical support facilities. The project required the careful integration of highly technical medical equipment and service infra­structure within a base build that was still under construction when design commenced.

Close coordination between the archi­tectural team, the hospital developer, specialist equipment suppliers, and clinical stakeholders ensured that de­sign, construction, and commissioning phases aligned seamlessly with the evolving base build.

The resulting facility provides a co­hesive, patient-centred environment that supports advanced imaging and cancer treatment technologies, pro­motes clinical collaboration, and deliv­ers a calming, efficient setting for both patients and staff.
