Ruakaka school -
roll growth

Responding to significant roll growth, this project delivers a robust and efficient expansion to support the school’s evolving needs. The development includes the construction of seven new classrooms, the conversion of an existing administration space into a teaching environment, and the provision of a new administration building and staffroom.

The design adopts an extruded form, wrapping around the rear field with a semi modular approach, utilising pre-nailed wall systems and trusses to enable simple, fast, and cost-effective construction while maintaining a high level of build quality and consistency across the school site. This strategy allowed the project to be delivered efficiently with minimal disruption to the school’s ongoing operations.

A strong sense of identity and playfulness is expressed through the integration of the school’s signature colours-purple, green, pink, orange, and yellow-woven throughout the development. These vibrant accents enhance wayfinding, foster a positive learning environment, and reflect the energy and character of the school community.
